Introduction To Software Applications

Software Applications is one of the easiest units that is studied within the BTEC National Diploma in ICT. Throughout this unit various tasks within all the Microsoft Office Packages are needed to be completed. For example:

 

Grading criteria

 

To achieve a pass grade the evidence must show
that the learner is able to:

 

To achieve a merit grade the evidence must show
that the learner is able to:

 

To achieve a distinction grade the evidence must
show that the learner is able to:

 

  1. use database tables to generate forms and reports
  1. use formulas to solve problems and present information in a variety of ways

 

  1. create a computer slide presentation for a given subject and group
  1. create a number of documents that demonstrate different techniques for graphics and text formatting.

 

 

  1. create and produce a professional presentation in a variety of views which includes appropriate text and graphics
  1. produce a number of professional documents that demonstrate appropriate text formatting, including text and graphics

 

  1. demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to merge two files together and an ability to select appropriate files for merging.

 

  1. design and produce a multi-table database to meet a given specification. Design suitable forms and reports to meet the user specification
  1. use validation and formatting to ensure correct data entry and employ sorting, summarising and charting techniques to produce a meaningful display of information.  Customise the user screen according to the requirements.  This evidence can be generated with a database and/or spreadsheet application

 

  1. create a document to specification. The specification will require careful and appropriate use of text formatting, a page layout which includes headers and/or footers, tabulated text and/or numeric data. It will also require graphics to be positioned and displayed appropriately on a page. The specification will require the merging of a file from another source.

 

 

Once all the tasks are completed within one Microsoft Package you onto another package.
